...The Request for healing Naaman - 2 Kings Stories

2 Kings 5.1-7
Naaman the Syrian army commander, was well respected and esteemed by the king of his country because, through Naaman, the LORD God had given victory to the army of the Syrians. He was a brave soldier, but was suffering from a skin disease. In one of his attacks against Israel, the Syrians had taken prisoner an Israeli girl, who was being slave of the wife of Naaman. One day the girl told her mistress: - I wish my boss was talking to the prophet living in Samaria, for he would cure his illness. So Naaman went to the king and told him what the girl had said. And the king said: - Go talk to the king of Israel and delivered the letter to him. So Naaman left, taking three hundred-pound of silver, and about seventy pounds of gold and ten changes of clothing. The letter he carried said thus: "This letter is to present Naaman, who is my official. I want you to heal." When the king of Israel read the letter, tore their clothes as a sign of fear and exclaimed: - How is the king of Syria wants me to heal this man? Does he think I am God and I have the power to give life and take it? He is wanting to fight!

By: Bible Society of Brazil, via email on 09/06/2010
Transcribed by: C.L.M.
